
Early nights, SPF and definitely no smoking are the best ways to make sure your skin stays looking peachy – but is there anything you can be doing for your skin when it comes to your diet?
Let's take a look at some of the best foods for your face.

Red Peppers
Turns out vitamin C is useful to your skin whether you ingest it in food, or slather it on your face. A study found that "higher vitamin C intakes were associated with a lower likelihood of a wrinkled appearance and senile dryness" and tbh, senile dryness sounds like something we'd rather avoid. Red peppers are one of the easiest ways to get vitamin C – they've got nearly triple the amount of an orange.

Water
Very BORING we know, and definitely not new information. But there are studies that show that upping your water intake can improve your skin's physiology – especially if you're not much of a water drinker already. Improvements were seen in people who drank over two litres of water a day for two weeks. So, um, drink up.

Peanut Oil
A study from 2007 found that linoleic acid was "associated with better skin-ageing appearance" among middle-aged American women. Linoleic acid is a "polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid" (sure) and is found in peanut oil.

Green Tea
It's a crying shame that green tea doesn't taste better because the list of things it's meant to be able to do for you and your health is outstanding. According to a study from 2010, people who drank more green tea saw a positive impact on the "elasticity, roughness, scaling and density" of their skin.

Avocados
As if you needed more of a reason to eat avocados in bulk. A study in Japan found that eating more total fat, saturated fat and monounsaturated fat was "significantly associated with increased skin elasticity". Obviously not all fats are good for you so stick to avocados, which are high in monounsaturated fat.
